| The United States of Hope (USOH) is an American-based non-profit organization based in Montana. The USOH mission statement reads, “USOH exists to positively improve and bless the lives of families and individuals impacted by war, economic challenge, and natural disaster.” The organization consists of approximately 5,000 members and civilian supporters nationwide. Founded in 2008 by Samuel Pascal Redfern, a Sergeant in the United States Army who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, the organization focuses on educating, equipping and empowering those who have been impacted by war, economic challenge and natural disaster.
USOH is a Montana-based organization, serving over 5,000 civilian and military supporters nationwide and dozens of clients locally each month. USOH has a 100 percent volunteer staff of ten citizens who are passionate about their work. With the support of private donors and volunteers, USOH has been involved in Veterans Day events, University Programs, Memorial Day events, Stand Downs, Christmas 4 Vets, Veterans Courts, and the memorial for the 10th Anniversary of 9/11 in Missoula. We build our community by supporting military families and children impacted by war and disaster, and bridging the gap between civilian and veteran populations with special events and programs. USOH projects include: ▪ Resettlement of US Army foreign interpreters to locations in Europe and America ▪ Volunteer participation in marathons in Germany, France, Montana, Oregon and Washington D.C. to raise awareness for families affected by war, especially children ▪ Pages of Hope and Letters of Love projects providing school supplies to orphans in Iraq and Afghanistan ▪ Creating education scholarship funds for Iraqi orphans ▪ Advocating for jobs, housing, and educational opportunities for Veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan. ▪ Projects and campaigns geared toward assistance for Veterans of Montana and the Northwest U.S. ▪ Funding of family resource groups units for deployed military member families ▪ Providing leadership challenge and financial training to volunteers ▪ Organizing community events for Veterans such as Christmas 4 Vets benefit concerts ▪ Working to establish a school and library in Sudan through partnerships with local grassroots citizens. ▪ Providing micro-loans and grants to military members and veterans in need. ▪ Shipping relief boxes containing school supplies, blankets, letters and books to Haiti post-earthquake in 2010 |
